Ali Al Habsi visits Jebel Sifah

Ali Al Habsi visits Jebel Sifah
  • Oman's star goal keeper Ali Al Habsi recently visited the Jebel Sifah project for a look at his trophy apartment, which is all set for a formal handover very soon.

  • This luxury two-bedroom apartment was a token of Muriya Tourism Development Company's appreciation to Ali Al Habsi for being selected the best goal keeper during Gulf Cup 19. He was honoured by the company with the apartment, following a formal signing ceremony in the days after the memorable victory that won him kudos as the best goalkeeper.
  • Ali Al Habsi, currently playing in the premier league, was escorted around the site by Ghizlane El Gouchi, Senior Sales Team Leader of Muriya. Earlier in the day he met the Muriya team at the sales centre and checked out the master plan of the project. He toured the marina, the mock-up apartment and spent time at his own apartment. He expressed his pleasure at the way the apartment was shaping, especially the finishing, which he said, is superb.

  • "This is a fantastic location and I am very impressed with the scenic pleasures it offers. The natural surroundings of Jebel Sifah are just right to relax in an ambience that is stress-free and serene. This is truly reflective of Oman's amazing natural beauty and I feel honoured to be a part of this inspiring project. More so, since it has the welfare of locals in the community at its heart, who are, thanks to the project, assured of several job opportunities," he said

  • He was also taken in by the spacious interiors of the apartment and its actual size. "I appreciate the gift bestowed on me by Muriya to be a home-owner at such a prestigious project and am keenly looking forward to the handover. I am also certain that my fellow football players and fans in Europe will be encouraged to invest in Oman and own such magnificent properties here. Yes, I have to admit here that since the time I started playing in the UK, many of the fans and even football players have become aware of Oman – some have even paid a visit to the country! This, I believe, is a very exciting phase," he noted. A hero for a generation of football fans in the country, Al Habsi is easily seen as a sports ambassador. To his credit, among others, is the crowning glory of being the first Omani to play international football in Europe.

  • Muriya was the only official Omani partner of the GCC 19 in the tourism development category and awarded Al Jazeera "Best Players Awards" to the three top players of the GCC 19. The winners of each category were officially announced by the technical committee of the GCC 19; Majid Al Marshadi (KSA) the best player, Hassan Rabe'ea (Oman) the top scorer and Ali Al Habsi (Oman) the best goalkeeper.

  • About Muriya:

  • Muriya was established in 2006 when Egypt's Orascom Hotels and Development (with 70 per cent stake) and Omani government owned Omran (with 30 per cent stake) came together in a joint venture. Since then, Muriya has announced four ambitious projects across the beautiful locales of Oman. Two of the ongoing projects are integrated tourism complexes (ITCs) offering freehold properties – 'Jebel Sifah' and 'Salalah Beach'. In addition, Muriya also has extensive plans to develop a 'City walk' in Muscat and work is ongoing on the boutique hotel on 'As Sodah Island'.
